THE VICTORY CHALLENGE

Are you a singer, poet, rapper, or have a band or musical group. Are you in Middle School, High School, College, or an adult who wants to show your talent?

Then Join the Victory Talent Search where everybody is a winner!

First:

There will be 5 categories and a 1, 2, and 3 place winner in each category.

Secondly:

All participants have the opportunity to be entered in the Famed Televised "Show Down" Talent Competition conducted by November Entertainment which will be held in April, 2010.

Auditions begin March 1st through 19th, 2010. Competition begins March 20th, 2010 through April 10th, 2010.

Spoken Word Poetry

Female Vocalist

Male Vocalist

Inspirational Rap

Band & Musical Group

(max. 7 people in each group)

Two Divisions:

Junior Division - 13 to 17 Years old.

Must be 17 or younger at time of registration.

Open Division - Ages 18 and up.

Awards:

Junior Division Open Division

1st Place 1st Place

2nd Place 2nd Place

3rd Place 3rd Place

All contestants who successfully and legally compete in the Victory Challenge will be entered into "The Show Down", The Famed Talent Competition which will be video taped & televised in April 2010.

Competition Information:

Auditions and Preliminary rounds of the competition will be held at the Victory Horizons Community Center.

Finals will be held at a site to be announced.

Judging process:

The live audience will count for 50% of each participants score.

Talent judges that will count for 50% of participants score.

The scores from the audience will be calculated and averaged for each round of competition.

The final scores of the judges will be averaged with the final averaged scores of the audience; thus determining the contestants who will move into the next round of competition.

Depending on the number of contestants in each category, the lowest 2 to 5 scores will determine which contestants are dropped from the competition; thus leaving the rest of the contestants to return for the next round of competition.

This process will continue until the end of the semi-final round. Then we will move to the championship round where the judges scores will serve as the final determination of the winners in each category.

There will be 3 judges through the preliminary rounds and 5 for the final round as we will have two (2) special guest judges in addition to the regular judges.

Conduct & Behavior in and during competition:

Victory Horizons is a faith based community organization that serves the youth, family, and community. Certain conduct and behavior will not be allowed in or during the competition by any of the competitors or participants.

Please dress appropriately. Sagging pants and attire that is inappropriately revealing is not permitted.

Gang colors, signals, and attire will result in immediate disqualification.

Profane and Vulgar language in songs or poems will not be permitted and may cause violator to be disqualified from competition.

Note: This does not refer to language that is suggestive or expressive that is not used for degrading people, cultures, or lifestyles. However, if there are any questions, please ask director who will physically sign off on your song or poem to allow a language that is not meant for harm to any people, culture, race, or holistic creed.

Victory Horizons Director has the right to disallow any action whether expressed verbally or in deed by any participant in the Victory Challenge competition.

Participant will be asked to change such language or act to something that would be appropriate for said competition.

Penalty may be loss of points or total disqualification which will be left to the discretion of the judges and the director of the competition.

Simply put, if you think something is questionable, please inquire.

Completion of entry requirements:

There are four basic requirements for all competitors. They are as follows:

1) Complete entry application and pay appropriate entry fee:

Junior Division - $10 per person or $20 for a band or group.

Open Division - $20 per person or $35 for a band or group.

2) Participate in the auditions

3) Each individual participant must sell 8 tickets to the competition.

All of the requirements MUST BE completed in order to compete successfully in the competition.
